Machinery Genius Brings AI Help for New and Old Machines to FABTECH 2026
See live AI machinery questions, augmented-reality shop planning and worldwide expert connections at Sterling Machinery Exchange, booth C2322.
LAS VEGAS, NV, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Machinery Genius will demonstrate AI-powered machinery assistance at FABTECH, October 21–23, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. At Sterling Machinery Exchange’s booth C2322, founder Adam Mattes will show how people can ask real machinery questions and invite attendees to try to “Stump the Genius.”The platform helps users find answers about machinery maintenance, troubleshooting, specifications and parts, drawing on technical documentation internally. It addresses equipment of every age, from older machines with incomplete records to new installations and unfamiliar controls. It is designed for newer employees learning their equipment as well as experienced operators and technicians facing something they haven’t encountered before.
“The machine might be twenty years old, two years old, or brand new,” said Mattes. “Your newest employee needs help. Your experienced operator needs help with a different control. Even a technician who’s worked on machines for thirty years can encounter something new.”
Multilingual assistance includes Spanish, so a user can ask, “¿Qué significa esta alarma?” (“What does this alarm mean?”). The goal is to help people discuss machinery questions in a language they understand comfortably, while keeping the machine model, control and technical details central to the conversation.
Attendees can bring their questions to the live AI demonstration and see how the team checks responses. The “Stump the Genius” challenge gives visitors a hands-on look at what AI machinery assistance can do and where human expertise remains essential.
My Machine Garage keeps machine information, users’ own photos and documents, notes, parts information, contacts and service history together. Users can record maintenance performed and the next due date, and keep machinery conversations linked to the equipment. These records help preserve knowledge when employees change roles, experienced staff retire or a different technician takes over. The next person can start with the history already collected.
See It In Your Shop, the Will It Fit tool, lets users explore machine placement using entered dimensions, a saved Garage machine or an OEM preview. Augmented reality is available on supported devices and models, helping users visualize equipment in their space before a move or purchase. Users can consider access and layout questions before confirming actual measurements and clearances.
Genius Tech Connect connects users with machinery experts worldwide about machine-specific questions. Repair Tech Finder and Machinery Mover Finder help users identify companies to contact for service or relocation. A user can approach these conversations with the machine’s identity, service history and question organized, then discuss the provider’s experience, availability and scope of work.
Manufacturer-information tools focus on approved product knowledge and support connections. For OEMs and service teams, the opportunity is to help customers connect information to the equipment they own and arrive at a support discussion with a clearer description of the machine and the issue.
Visitors can also learn about the 3D Parts and Accessories Marketplace, including design submissions for review, approved free files and private inquiries. It gives contributors a place to share designs while users assess possible applications.
AI guidance and visual planning supplement qualified expertise and on-site verification.
Mattes brings more than thirty years of machinery experience. He began working around Sterling Machinery Exchange at sixteen, following his grandfather Bill, who founded Sterling in 1954.
